The aim of this research is to conduct a mini feasibility-type project testing how blind and partially sighted (BPS) novice designers perform in this context and what type of training, tools and support they would need in the future.

This study is designed as a theatre prop design work-based simulation where participants go through a prop-making process experimenting with design ideas and materials whilst working in line with a professional design brief prepared by the author of this study and Extant theatre.

This research is supervised by Catherine Holloway – Academic Director of the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub) and Professor at University College London’s Interaction Centre.
